Looking for sea and weather condition exceptional, Roberto Accardi leaves destination north Sardinia, that allows to hope for promising after storm sea situation, after being attacked by a strong wind with two-meters high waves.
Roberto find the scenario for his fishing day, a beach between Badesi and Mimose Bay, a place called Riu Siccu, dried river, because of the presence of a canal with no water in it.
He choose that beach because of that canal that built itself between two tips, this allows to fish both in the large canal area featured by a calmer sea and deeper water and in side zones near higher bottoms where, because of the dried sea, waves keep running around for longer than the canal area.
The day is long, but Roberto doesn’t waste any time and start preparing the equipment. Today he wants to catch big size sea bream by selecting them with baits chosen for that purpose.
Talking about baits, Roberto introduced us a particular bait, a typical Sardinian one, the rag worm. It is very catchy sea worm that stays in salty waters of the lagoon and lives in a sort of mud house built by itself.
Roberto shows us how to prepare this worm trigger, how to let it out its shell and how to make it stronger with elastic wire for making it more resistant in the launching phase.
Then there’s the razor clam trigger with some advices and tricks necessary for the making of and presentation of the baits.
Beside the Surfcasting rods, all mounted with rigs and armrest triggered with bibi on the higher hook and other hooks like crab on the lower hook, Roberto launches in the canal area, with calmer sea, also a Cassiopea XTR Beach, 5 meters length, a lighter rod, with the two just introduced triggers.
During a stalling moment in the fishing action, Roberto introduce some news of the Trabucco brand such as conic shock leader, necessary with rough sea, like the one he’s fishing in, or when using heavy leads for amortizing shot and avoid breaks.
Roberto talks also about the wire he’s using during the fishing session, FC 403 fluorocarbon, that is extremely useful and stands for its held to the knot 40% superior comparing to other fluorocarbon and realized with a three layers structure, that gives it softness and an incredible resistance to the abrasion.
Waiting for high-water, with the rod in his hand, Roberto goes fishing sand steenbras under the step, knowing they’re probably looking for a repair from predators. The situation is perfect and a sand steenbras bites on the bibi.
Despite the effort shown for the sea bream size selection, the big fish does not arrive and Roberto decides to close this episode with a couple of sand steenbras, but not without telling a little technique trick about luminescent beads Hyper Glow, that with already existing mounting avoid the changing of all rig setting if you need to catch oblade, horse mackerel or other preys that require a superficial fishing.
